What's Hands-On Universe?

The Hands-On Universe(HOU) is High School Science Education Project. HOU enables students to request, acquire, and study astronomical images taken with remote telescopes and Charge Couple Device(CCD) detectors. In addtion, HOU takes advantage of Internet. Students, working in amall groups, are presented a problem, such as finding the mass of a planet or the orbits of the moons of a planet, and discovers supernovae and asteroids. HOU emphasizes inquiry-based instruction and science process learning.

Our HOU activity

We have been implemented this HOU curriculum since Oct,1997. At that time, We practiced HOU class at Fujitsu PC room which we used for free. Now, Practicing HOU project involves our club's usual activity, and we are always doing it after shcool.
In 1999, Mr.Gossy, our teacher, bacame HOU-TRA in Hawaii. He promised collaborating Asteroid Search Project with overseas scool,there. Our representatives are Masakazu Esaki, Souichirou Fukamachi and Takeshi Oguro.
